Tracy Bothwell

Managing Attorney ยท Bothwell Law Office

Bothwell Law Office was founded on a simple idea โ€” that good estate planning starts with a real conversation between two people, not a stack of forms.

A practice rooted in relationships

Estate planning, done the way it should be done.

Estate planning, at its best, is deeply personal. It's about what you've built, who you love, and what you want to leave behind for them. That kind of work doesn't fit neatly into templates and intake forms.

Tracy founded Bothwell Law Office to take the time most firms don't: time to understand the family, the business, and the priorities behind each plan. Every client works directly with Tracy from the first phone call to the final signature โ€” no junior associate handoff, no surprise paralegals.

A long path home

The detour that made the destination.

Tracy spent years before launching the firm working with small businesses on a wide range of legal issues โ€” taking on employment discrimination cases, advocating for union employees, and handling real estate and criminal matters. She also spent time in the corporate world, focused on policy, HR, employment law, and ethics and compliance.

It was useful work, and the perspective it offered shaped how she practices today. But it wasn't the work she set out to do.

In 2024, Tracy made the decision to return to her original passion: helping families and individuals plan for what comes next, both now and down the road. The result is a firm built around the kind of attorney she always wanted to be โ€” patient, plain-spoken, and present from start to finish.

"I started this firm because I truly believe in building real connections with people. My goal is to help you understand and navigate estate planning so you can protect your family's legacy."

How I work

Four commitments to every client.

Estate planning often goes wrong in the same handful of ways: rushed appointments, jargon-filled documents the client doesn't understand, plans that look complete on paper but fall apart when they're needed. Bothwell Law Office is built around the fixes.

  1. 01

    Direct access.

When you hire the firm, you work with Tracy โ€” not a paralegal, not a junior associate. You'll have a direct line to her throughout the engagement, and she returns calls personally.

  2. 02

    Plain English.

Every document Tracy drafts comes with a walk-through. By the time you sign, you'll know what each clause does, why it's there, and what to expect if it's ever needed.

  3. 03

    Unhurried meetings.

Estate planning is not a fifteen-minute appointment. Tracy sets aside the time to ask the right questions and listen carefully to the answers โ€” because the right plan is built on the details.

  4. 04

    A complete plan.

Family, business interests, real estate, healthcare wishes, end-of-life decisions โ€” these pieces only work when they fit together. Tracy looks at the whole picture, not a single document at a time.
